Risk assessment

There could be many risks during the process of making our music video. This risk assessment will make us aware of the possible risks and how they can be prevented.

1. Tripping over objects at location?
 Answer: Yes
Likelihood: Medium
Severity: Medium
Persons at risk: All members of crew(2), actors(20) and band memebers(2).
Precautions: Minimise the risks by briefing all members of cast and crew before the filming takes place in order to prevent any accidents. Make sure wires from microphones, keyboards or lights are not in the way of people.

2. Camera and equipment getting damaged?
Answer: Yes
Likelihood: Medium/high
Severity: Medium
Persons at risk: All actors(20) and crew(2). Equipment.
Precautions: Take care when handling the cameras and other equipment when moving around the location to film. When filming has finished put the camera back in it's leather case each time to avoid any damage.

3. Special effects?
Answer: Yes
Likelihood: High
Severity: Medium
Persons at risk: Members of crew(2) and band(2).
Precautions: We might be using a smoke machine in our music video, therefore crew or cast members with allergies or asthma would be told before the filming takes place that they might be at risk and then given the option as to whether they would like to carry on with the filming. Strobe lights might also be used when filming; any member of the cast or crew would also need to be briefed about the possible dangers especially if they might suffer from epilepsy.

4. Temporary structures?
Answer: Yes
Likelihood: Low
Severity: High/ Medium
Persons at risk: All actors(20) and crew(2). Equipment
Precautions: To prevent any major/minor injuries to the crew, band members or actors temporary structures such as a the flood light/strobe light and possibly a ladder would have to be fixed correctly using a screwdriver or appropriate stand and someone must be holding the ladder safely. Temporary structures like the DJ set would also need to set up properly to prevent harm to the DJ, surrounding people or equipment.

Representation in our video

Representation in our music video...

Who?
our band includes one female singer (Chloe Morgan Webster) and one male producer/DJ (Joe Cooper). The video will follow a group of young teenagers at a party. The video will predominantly be representing young people aged 17-25. However our target audience is people aged between 16 and 30. We want to create a real representation of young people in this video.

What?

Our video will include a performance from Chloe (lead singer) as she is amongst the party. It will also feature Joe (male band member) with DJ decks. We will be focussing mostly on the lead female singer as she makes her way through the party and finds herself walking through a house. This video will fall into the amplification genre, there is no real story/narrative but some shots will be amplified to match the music.

Where?

We have chosen a simple location for our video. Most of the filming will take place inside my (Mattie's) house along with the extras (party people). There will be a few external shots in the back garden too. One of our concerns with shooting outside was the lighting, however we have a flood light that can be used to light up the people outside.During the video the female singer will be walking through the house. Bedrooms, Hallways and bathrooms may be used.

Why?

The reason we have chosen to carry out most of the filming in these location is because a party situation would be in this sort of house and we want everything to be as realistic as possible. in the main room we are filming in there is a projector and screen on the wall this can add to the effect of the party because images can be shown on the screen or music can be played.

How?

Before filming we have created a storyboard timeline to the music we are using to check the shots fit with the theme, we have mind mapped ideas on what props we need and the costumes that need to be involved.
